Subsequent observing these three adverse sights, Siddhārtha proceeded upon the fourth sight, an ascetic who made himself much dedicated for discovering the problem of human suffering. This sight inflicted him with a hope that he too might be freed from the difficulties emerging from being regularly reborn and he decided to attend the ascetic's pattern.
